About

BGE Contemporary Art was first established in the spring of 2014, by Stavanger based entrepreneur and property developer Eli Ertvaag, together with Kim Brandstrup and Marit Gillespie, owners of Galleri Brandstrup in Oslo. Initially the gallery largely focused on commissioned and site specific art work, in addition to showing occasional exhibitions by in-stall artists at the gallery, located at Tollboden in Stavanger.

In November 2017 BGE Contemporary Art opened the doors to our newly built gallery space in the Stavanger city center. The new gallery space is over 600 square meters, located over two floors, and was designed by architect Hans-Olav Hansen in RAMP architects, a unique addition to the regions art scene.

BGE Contemporary Art is dedicated to working with a high profiled stable of artists on a project-to-project basis. Our represented artists are selected with conviction, as renowned international and Scandinavian artists, as well as younger up-and-coming artists, based on their visual and conceptual expression.  The Gallery shows monthly exhibitions, in addition to our PrintLab, solely dedicated to exclusive prints, our beautiful outdoor sculpture park, and a little book shop.
